Expect the pleasure of hearing familiar melodies brought to life by a full ensemble: voices that tell a story, instruments that answer, and the spontaneous connection of musicians sharing a stage.
Whether these songs bring back treasured memories or introduce you to a new musical world, join us for A Night in Paris—an evening of beautiful melodies, nostalgic favorites, and the joy of live music.
Based in Los Angeles, Paris Chansons brings together musicians from different cultures, united by their love of French chanson and international music. Founded by Julia and Jacob Kantor, the ensemble combines French musical tradition with jazz, Eastern European influences, and Mediterranean warmth.
At the heart of the group are three distinctive multilingual singers. Julia Kantor, originally from Ukraine, developed her love of French music while living and studying in France. Singer and guitarist Jacob Kantor brings his songwriting sensibility to the ensemble, while Moroccan-born vocalist Max Cohen contributes a warm, velvety voice shaped by the music of Enrico Macias.
The instrumentalists are an essential part of the experience. Soaring violin, expressive piano, intricate guitar, bass, and drums give these beloved songs their depth and energy. From intimate vocal passages to spirited instrumental solos, the musicians move between tender ballads, swinging jazz, and exuberant gypsy rhythms.
